We are
extremely proud of our staff and would like to introduce them
to you so you know who is taking care of your dog.
Laurie
Kelley – Owner/Manager
All my life I have loved and wanted to work with
animals. After graduating from Onsted High School I went off to Oakland
University to study Zoology. I quickly found that was not what I wanted
to do. My next step was to study Veterinary Technology at
Stautzenberger College in Toledo, OH. While attending my first year at
SC I worked at the Animal Emergency Clinic in Toledo. By my second
year I left the emergency clinic and started working at the Manchester
Veterinary Clinic for Drs. Art & Libby Beaudoin. After graduating from
SC I moved to Manassas, Virginia to work at yet another Animal Emergency
Clinic. After 6 months in Virginia I knew it was not what I wanted. My
mom also wanted me to come home. I still wanted to work with animals
but I didn’t want to work on them. So, I started researching Dog
Daycare. I soon realized this was what I was supposed to do. Run my
own business, my own Dog Care Facility. I moved home in October of
2005. We obtained our loan and land by May of 2006. Started
construction in August of 2006 and opened UNLEASHED and lovin’ it! on
January 15, 2007.
Katherine
Kelley - Owner/Manager
I
graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1972. I married
Charles Kelley in 1973. I worked different office positions until we
decided to have children, and I stayed home to raise my two boys and
daughter for the next 6 years. When Laurie went to
kindergarten, I decided that I would try being a Bus Driver. I
drove bus for 14 years. During that time I was involved with the
Onsted Community Recreation Committee, coaching softball and doing
treasurer work. I also was the President of the Support Staff
Union at the school for several years.
When my daughter graduated from High School, I decided to look for
an office position, and I was hired as an Office Administrator for a
local Real Estate Office. I have worked in the Real Estate field
for the past 7 years. I learned a lot about computers and how to
deal with the public.
My
daughter moved to Virginia for a Veterinary Technician position in
2005 and while she was living there she became interested in Dog Day
Care. She decided to put together a business plan and moved back
home so that we could start a business. We decided that Jackson was
the best place to open this type of business and so here we are.
Charles
Kelley - Owner/Pit Crew Chief
I was born and raised in Lenawee
County, MI. After graduating from Onsted High School I worked at
Tecumseh Products and construction at MIS. In 1969 I was drafted
into the Army. When I left the army I began working at Ford Motor
Co. in Saline until I retired in 2001. Having been an avid outdoorsman all my life, particularly
raising and training coonhounds, I had experience with handing dogs.
So, when we decided to open UNLEASHED, I knew we could handle it.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Linda Bumpus - Pit Crew
I was raised in Liberty,
MI where I spent my days riding my horses and playing with my dogs &
cats. My parents made me care for my animals every day before and
after school. They taught me responsibility and how to be a good
pet owner.
I graduated from JCC and attended Michigan State to become a
Veterinary Technician. I worked with Dr. Ann Clark for many years
and also at Manchester Veterinary Clinic. With my 3 children
grown, with children of their own, I am glad to be back working with
animals again. I can truly say I love coming to work every
morning. UNLEASHED is a great place to be!
Jill Warfield - Pit Crew
I am a Jackson Native.
I went to Western High School and received my GED from Tomlinson High
School. I have 2 children - Sydney, 4 years and Charlie, 2 years.
I have always been a huge animal lover. I worked at
Arbor Hills Vet Clinic with Dr. Schrauben for 2 years, Jackson County
Animal Control, the Cascades Humane Society and with show dogs. I
love my job at UNLEASHED. Most times I would rather be at work
than at home, not many people can say that.
Lindsay Pampuch - Pit Crew
I am married and have 2 dogs of my own, Kody &
Brian who I consider my children. I enjoy animals and feel that
they are therapeutic. I am currently a student at Baker College
studying Massage Therapy. After graduation I plan on attending an
animal massage course so I am able to practice on people and animals.
I look forward to meeting you and your dogs and I will give them the
love & attention they need in your absence.
Christy Ely - Pit Crew

Nacoda – Alpha Dog
Nacoda is my first dog. She spends most of her days laying on the couch
in the office but still likes to go into the pit to say “hello” to
everyone and maintain her alpha dog status. Nacoda was diagnosed with
Bone Cancer in August of 2007, just after her 6th birthday
and lost her fight with cancer on September 15, 2008.

Finnigan –
Ambassador of Fun & Play
I adopted Finnigan
from a woman in Delta, OH who rescues puppies from auctions. He came to
us in June of 2007 and we have never looked back. He was the perfect
addition to our little family. At daycare, Fin is everyone’s friend!
He has not met a dog or person he does not like. He can be found daily
in the pit at UNLEASHED. He will play with any dog that will tolerate
him, it doesn’t matter if they are big or small, Fin will always be in the
middle of the action.
Gia
Baie - The New Addition
I adopted Gia from Halcombs Kennel in Brooklyn on October 24, 2008.
She is a Landseer Newfoundland. |
